    The Winter Lakes Alliance represents the following lakes of southeast Sawyer County; Barber, Barker, Black Dan, Blaisdell, Bluegill, Fishtrap, Hunter, Island, Loretta and Lake Winter.


    The purpose of the organization is limited to charitable, educational and scientific purposes. The organization promotes the preservation and conservation of the area lakes as a natural resource. To advance safety and education, including protection of habitat and stocking programs.

    Some of our activities include; awarding a scholarship to a high school student who is interested in a career in environmental studies. A kid’s fishing contest for all children up to the age of 16 years. This event is held on the Saturday before Father’s Day each year. All participants receive a prize along with prizes awarded for biggest and most fish caught in each age category.

    You do not need to reside on a lake or a river to become an active member of the Winter Lakes Alliance.

    Annual dues are $20.00 (Individual), $30.00 (Family) and $30.00 (Commercial or Business). Anyone interested in joining should complete the following application form and return it to the address shown below.
